Edgewood readies for Border Wars

Edgewood Academy will see a mixture of old and new faces this weekend when the Wildcats travel to play in the Glenwood-hosted Border Wars Tournament.
The tournament opens Thursday with Edgewood set to face Georgia’s Arlington Day Christian at 6 p.m. (EST) at Glenwood School.
The Wildcats will remain in Phenix City on Friday to face Hooper and then will travel to Columbus’s Golden Park to face Lee-Scott at 1 p.m. Bracket play will follow that afternoon.
Edgewood rides into this weekend’s affair on the crest of a 4-0 run through the field at Morgan Academy’s tournament held last weekend.
Edgewood defeated Wilcox (11-0), Monroe (6-4), Clarke Prep (5-0) and Marengo (11-0).
So far this season, Rod Boykin (.400) and John Mark Cosby (.400) are leading the charge with a combined 22 hits, 22 RBIs and 25 runs scored.
