The New Life Eagles added another win the resume, and improved to 6-0 (8-2) since Spring Break.
“We were 2-2 and I told them to do some soul searching,” said NLCA coach Todd McCutchin.
The Eagles answered the challenge and haven’t looked back. After a weekend of bullish wins, New Life squeaked by Marion Academy 20-2. Garrett Head and Brandon Pate combined for the win with nine total strikeouts over four innings of work.
Alex Russell (3-for-4) doubled and bounced a home run off the scoreboard. The Brothers Hasselbring (Levi and Ethan) (a combo 3-for-6) accounted for six RBIs, a double, a triple and a three-run dinger. Stuart Slemp (2-for-2) doubled and scored twice in the win.
