A 30-year-old Deatsville woman was sentenced to serve 18 months in jail after pleading guilty to three counts of manslaughter as a result of a fatal accident in Millbrook Nov. 23, 2010.
Stephanie Desselle was the driver of a 1996 Ford Explorer that crossed over the center line on Alabama Highway 14 at Oaktree Road around 8:24 p.m. and hit a 1999 Plymouth Voyager, which had five occupants.
Three of the five – Leslie Ann Harris, Janice Logan Blake and Basilio M. Lora – were killed as a result of the accident.
“This was one of the worst traffic collisions that we’ve seen in quite some time and a tragic loss of life,” Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson told The Herald.
At the time of the head-on collision, two other vehicles were included in the accident.
