•The Elmore County Shaped Note Gospel Singing will be held May 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Cedarwood Community Church on U.S. Highway 231 North in Wetumpka. Everyone is invited to come and sing favorite songs and hymns. There will be books available for all. Refreshments and fellowship will follow the singing. •Cain’s Chapel United Methodist Church will hold a Pancake Breakfast May 18, from 8 to 10 a.m. Cost is $5 per plate or $15 per family. The church is located in the Slapout/Holtville community at 96 Lightwood Road (across from Sheila’s Pizza).

•New Home Baptist Church of Titus will celebrate an Old Fashioned Sunday May 26 at 10:30 a.m. Following the church service will be dinner on the grounds of the Sewell Memorial School property (corner of Sewell Road and Spigener Road). That afternoon, there will be games for kids and adults and homemade ice cream. Everyone is invited to join in a good old time. The church is located at 1605 New Home Road in Titus.

•On May 26, Balm of Gilead Church, located at 5187 Balm Road in Wetumpka, will host is fourth annual Sunday singing in May. Guest singers will be Joe and Pat Yerwood from the Valley. A covered dish lunch will be served at noon.

•Jubilee Christian Fellowship in Montgomery will host the quarterly Central Alabama Southern Gospel Music Association Singing May 31 at 7 p.m. CASGMA artists will perform. No admission charge, but a love offering will be accepted. For information, call 334-451-0059.

•Friendship Baptist Church will hold a Pancakes for Paducah breakfast June 1 from 8 to 10 a.m. Tickets are $5 each and proceeds will help 12 church members on their mission trip to Paducah, Ky. •Rock Springs Baptist Church, 375 Rigsby Road, Tallassee, will host a free pancake breakfast from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. June 1 at the fellowship hall. The event is free to everyone and includes pancakes, coffee, juice, butter and syrup. In addition, a giant yard sale will be available on the church grounds from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day. Coupons for free merchandise are on hand. Come out and enjoy breakfast and shop and save. Located just off Rifle Range Road at the Rigsby Road entrance across from the Dozier farm house. Coming from Wetumpka on Rifle Range do not exit at the first Rigsby Road sign. Turn in front of the Dozier farmhouse at 12531 Rifle Range Road. Turn off Rifle Range Road onto Rigsby and it will be on the left. All proceeds go to missions.

•Deatsville Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School June 10-14, from 6 to 9 p.m. each day. This year’s theme is The Colossal Coaster World. •Wall Street AME Zion Church in Tallassee will host the Tuskegee District Vacation Bible School June 11-13. Preschool children through adults are invited to participate in this fun-filled Bible program. There will be crafts, games, snacks and Bible training. •Eastmont Baptist Church in Montgomery will host the second annual Memorial Concert June 30. The Blackwood Quartet will perform. The group is one of the leading names in gospel music with 27 Dove Awards, nine Grammys and more than 60 million albums sold. The Blackwoods were featured in the Johnny Cash movie, backed up Elvis and featured many times on Bill Gaither’s Homecoming videos. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m.

•Rodgers Chapel Church in Wetumpka announces a Missionary and Church Choir Sponsored Bake Off to be held July 20, from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Bakers will receive advertisement and a chance to win a $50 gift card. Attenders will have an opportunity to taste and purchase cake by the slice. Cake must be homemade. Entrants must be willing to donate their cake with a chance to win. Participants may bake an additional cake to sell whole – the donated cake will be sliced and wrapped for the community to purchase and enjoy. Judges will taste a slice of each cake donated to determine the winner. Second and third place cakes will be mentioned on the church Facebook page the day of the event. •Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church hosts a noon salad luncheon the third Thursday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call 334-567-4225 for more information.

•Community Fellowshippers meet at Cain’s Chapel United Methodist Church every third Wednesday at 11 a.m. The gathering includes a devotion, program, prizes and a covered dish luncheon. Local pastors and families are encouraged to attend.

•Celebrate Recovery, which deals with life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups, holds meetings every Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at Santuck Baptist Church.

•Hope For Healing Grief Support Group meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church Tallassee.

•Need a bus ride to church? Healing Waters Church of God in Eclectic offers bus rides to church for anyone who would like to attend, but does not have transportation. Call Steve Roberson at 334-252-1575 at least 24 hours in advance. Sunday services are at 9 a.m. (prayer), 10 a.m. (Sunday School), 11 a.m. (worship) and 6 p.m. (worship). Wednesday services are at 6 p.m. (prayer) and 7 p.m. (worship).

•River’s Edge Flea Market is open every Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. at East Tallassee United Methodist Church. All vendors are welcome – new items, old items, crafts, youth groups, ball teams, baked goods, produce and food. Various booth cost available.
