•Cedarwood Community Church in Wetumpka will host Mark Lanier in concert June 1 at 6 p.m. Lanier is formerly from Elmore County, but now lives in Louisiana. Everyone is invited to come and bring a friend. No admission, but a love offering will be taken. Refreshments and fellowship to follow singing. •Rock Springs Baptist Church, 375 Rigsby Road, Tallassee, will host a free pancake breakfast June 1 from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the fellowship hall. Free to everyone and includes pancakes, coffee and juice. There will also be a giant yard sale and bake sale on the church grounds from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items will include clothing, electronics, kitchenware, appliances, books, nursery items and more. Proceeds benefit the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions. Gifts while they last, discount coupons available. Located off Rifle Range Road at the Rigsby Road entrance across from the Dozier farm house. Coming from Wetumpka on Rifle Range do not exit at the first Rigsby Road sign. •Homemade camp stew and white chili will be available for purchase June 1 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cedarwood Community Church in Wetumpka. There will also be an indoor yard sale. All proceeds help support the ministries of the church. For more information, call 334-567-0476.

•The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus will be presented by Horseplay Equestrian Drill Team June 2 at Brush Poppers Cowboy Church. Presentation times will be at 11 a.m. following Brush Poppers morning service and at 1 p.m following other area churches’ morning services. •Union Church will hold a VBS preview event June 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. This year’s Vacation Bible School theme is “Kingdom of the Son: A Prayer Safari.”

•First Baptist Church of Eclectic will host a blood drive June 2, from 3 to 8 p.m.

•The Larch Family will be in concert at Faith Baptist Church for homecoming June 2 at 10:30 a.m. There will be singing, preaching and eating.

•Vacation Bible School will be held at Thelma Baptist Church June 3-7, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Children entering K5 through sixth grade are invited to attend “Colossal Coaster World VBS.” Register online at or pick up a paper form in the church office. Everyone is invited to come and learn how to Face Fear and Trust God.

•Sonwest Roundup VBS will be held at Central Baptist Church on Wednesdays June 5, 12, 19 and 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Open to children four years old through sixth grade. For information, call 334-541-2556 or 334-567-4872.

•Calvary Baptist Church in Wetumpka will hold preregistration for Vacation Bible School June 8, from 12 to 2 p.m. There will be popcorn, refreshments and goody bags for the children.

•Refined, from Piedmont, will be in concert at Claud Independent Methodist Church June 8 at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome for a time of worship in singing. The church is located at the intersection of Highway 14 and County Road 63.

•First Presbyterian Church of Wetumpka will hold Family Vacation bible School June 10-14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day. Classes are offered for all ages.

•Deatsville Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School June 10-14, from 6 to 9 p.m. each day. This year’s theme is The Colossal Coaster World. •Wall Street AME Zion Church in Tallassee will host the Tuskegee District Vacation Bible School June 11-13. Preschool children through adults are invited to participate in this fun-filled Bible program. There will be crafts, games, snacks and Bible training. •Calvary Baptist Church in Wetumpka will hold Colossal Coaster World Vacation Bible School June 17-21, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. each day. Open to children from three years old through sixth grade.

•Eastmont Baptist Church in Montgomery will host the second annual Memorial Concert June 30. The Blackwood Quartet will perform. The group is one of the leading names in gospel music with 27 Dove Awards, nine Grammys and more than 60 million albums sold. The Blackwoods were featured in the Johnny Cash movie, backed up Elvis and featured many times on Bill Gaither’s Homecoming videos. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m.

•Rodgers Chapel Church in Wetumpka announces a Missionary and Church Choir Sponsored Bake Off to be held July 20, from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Bakers will receive advertisement and a chance to win a $50 gift card. Attenders will have an opportunity to taste and purchase cake by the slice. Cake must be homemade. Entrants must be willing to donate their cake with a chance to win. Participants may bake an additional cake to sell whole – the donated cake will be sliced and wrapped for the community to purchase and enjoy. Judges will taste a slice of each cake donated to determine the winner. Second and third place cakes will be mentioned on the church Facebook page the day of the event. •Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church hosts a noon salad luncheon the third Thursday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call 334-567-4225 for more information.

•Community Fellowshippers meet at Cain’s Chapel United Methodist Church every third Wednesday at 11 a.m. The gathering includes a devotion, program, prizes and a covered dish luncheon. Local pastors and families are encouraged to attend.

•Celebrate Recovery, which deals with life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups, holds meetings every Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at Santuck Baptist Church.

•Hope For Healing Grief Support Group meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church Tallassee.

•Need a bus ride to church? Healing Waters Church of God in Eclectic offers bus rides to church for anyone who would like to attend, but does not have transportation. Call Steve Roberson at 334-252-1575 at least 24 hours in advance. Sunday services are at 9 a.m. (prayer), 10 a.m. (Sunday School), 11 a.m. (worship) and 6 p.m. (worship). Wednesday services are at 6 p.m. (prayer) and 7 p.m. (worship).

•River’s Edge Flea Market is open every Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. at East Tallassee United Methodist Church. All vendors are welcome – new items, old items, crafts, youth groups, ball teams, baked goods, produce and food. Various booth cost available.
