•Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church’s M&M’s Women’s Ministry will host Dinner and a Chick Flick June 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. The movie will be “Fried Green Tomatoes” with some discussion afterwards. Dinner will be pizza and attendees should bring their favorite dessert to share. Cost is $5 per person and can be paid that night. Meet in the Wired Room.

•The Elmore County Gospel Singing Convention will meet at the Cedarwood Community Congregational Christian Church in Wetumpka June 15 at 6:30 p.m. Come and bring a friend and enjoy singing old favorite songs and hymns. Books will be available for everyone to pick songs. Refreshments and fellowship to follow singing. •Calvary Baptist Church in Wetumpka will hold a Pancake Breakfast June 16 at 9 a.m. The event is a fundraiser for Children’s Camp.

•The Summer Monday Nights series at First Baptist Church of Wetumpka will feature Willie Brown and Woody June 17 at 6:30 p.m. It will be an evening of clean Christian comedy and community fellowship.

•Calvary Baptist Church in Wetumpka will hold Colossal Coaster World Vacation Bible School June 17-21, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. each day. Open to children from three years old through sixth grade.

•Grace Point Community Church will hold Colossal Coaster World Vacation Bible School June 17-21, from 6:15 to 8:45 p.m. The church is located at 78223 Tallassee Highway in Wetumpka.

•Eclectic United Methodist Church will host Hay Day Vacation Bible School June 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. and June 22, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

•Eclectic United Methodist Church will hold a covered dish lunch honoring the Osgood family June 23 following morning worship. The family is leaving to serve the congregation at Perry Hill United Methodist Church in Montgomery.

•Everyone is invited to join the members of Mt. Zion #3 Missionary Baptist Church in Eclectic for their Men and Women Day Celebration June 23 at 2:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. M.A. Moss and Reeltown Missionary Baptist Church. The church is located at 1813 Luke Paschal Road.

•Mountain View Baptist Church will hold Colossal Coaster World (Facing Fear, Trusting God) VBS June 24-28, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. each day. Open to children who have completed K5-sixth grade. The church is located at 1025 Rifle Range Road in Wetumpka. For information, call 334-567-4458.

•Liberty Baptist Church in Tallassee will hold Colossal Coaster World VBS June 24-28, 5 to 8:30 p.m. Children age pre-K through 12th grade can come and experience the thrill and excitement of a day at the park. Kids will enter Worship Rally at the main gate and make their first stop at Coaster Alley for Bible study. While touring the park, kids will also visit the Cotton Candy Cafe for snacks, the Adrenaline Zone for recreation, Tune Town for music, the Global Expo for missions and the Scissors and Stuff Emporium for crafts. •Faith Baptist Church and Search and Rescue of Elmore County K9 will host a Summer Bash fundraiser June 29, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the church. Admission is free, with wrist bands to participate in unlimited games $15. All games involve water. Concessions will be sold. Participants should wear old clothes and shoes. Dunking booth $1. Pie throwing $1. Proceeds will benefit Faith Baptist and SARELCO K9.

•Eastmont Baptist Church in Montgomery will host the second annual Memorial Concert June 30. The Blackwood Quartet will perform. The group is one of the leading names in gospel music with 27 Dove Awards, nine Grammys and more than 60 million albums sold. The Blackwoods were featured in the Johnny Cash movie, backed up Elvis and featured many times on Bill Gaither’s Homecoming videos. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m.

•The Red Ridge Methodist Church choir will present a patriotic musical, “God Bless the USA” June 30 at 9:30 a.m. A special group of eight will present “While There’s Time.” Solo parts of “I Love These 50 States’ will be sung by various members. The remaining patriotic songs will be performed by the entire choir. Present and past veterans will be recognized. Red Ridge Methodist Church is located at 8091 Tallapoosa County Road 34.

•Cedarwood Community Church, 10286 U.S. Highway 231 in Wetumpka will burn the church mortgage July 14 at 10 a.m. Joining in the celebration that morning will be the Cavaliers Quartet from Shelbyville, Tenn. •Rodgers Chapel Church in Wetumpka announces a Missionary and Church Choir Sponsored Bake Off to be held July 20, from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Bakers will receive advertisement and a chance to win a $50 gift card. Attenders will have an opportunity to taste and purchase cake by the slice. Cake must be homemade. Entrants must be willing to donate their cake with a chance to win. Participants may bake an additional cake to sell whole – the donated cake will be sliced and wrapped for the community to purchase and enjoy. Judges will taste a slice of each cake donated to determine the winner. Second and third place cakes will be mentioned on the church Facebook page the day of the event. •The Elmore County Food Pantry’s third annual Benefit Gospel Singing will be held July 20 at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Wetumpka. The evening will feature The Hopper Family and a Gaither-Style Choir composed of local talent. Tickets are available for purchase at the Elmore County Food Pantry (334-567-3232 or 334-467-6924), First Baptist Church (334-567-5191) and all area branches of River Bank & Trust and First Community Bank. All proceeds to benefit the Elmore County Food Pantry.

•Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church hosts a noon salad luncheon the third Thursday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call 334-567-4225 for more information.

•Community Fellowshippers meet at Cain’s Chapel United Methodist Church every third Wednesday at 11 a.m. The gathering includes a devotion, program, prizes and a covered dish luncheon. Local pastors and families are encouraged to attend.

•Celebrate Recovery, which deals with life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups, holds meetings every Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at Santuck Baptist Church.

•Hope For Healing Grief Support Group meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church Tallassee.

•Need a bus ride to church? Healing Waters Church of God in Eclectic offers bus rides to church for anyone who would like to attend, but does not have transportation. Call Steve Roberson at 334-252-1575 at least 24 hours in advance. Sunday services are at 9 a.m. (prayer), 10 a.m. (Sunday School), 11 a.m. (worship) and 6 p.m. (worship). Wednesday services are at 6 p.m. (prayer) and 7 p.m. (worship).

•River’s Edge Flea Market is open every Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. at East Tallassee United Methodist Church. All vendors are welcome – new items, old items, crafts, youth groups, ball teams, baked goods, produce and food. Various booth cost available.
