The Wetumpka YMCA Water Moccasins Swim Team won their first swim meet this year by beating the Bell Road YMCA on June 15.
The Water Moccasins have 100 swim team members this year on their roster.
Only 85 members swam in their first meet.
“As always, I am very proud of our swimmers, the way they competed and showed their effort with their individual and relay events,” said Dan English, coach of the Water Moccasins.
In the boys 7-8 25-yard Freestyle, Mattheis Spackman finished first with Brady Quarles finishing second. Connor Bailey was first in the boys 9-10 25-yard Freestyle. Kaytlin Bass, Katie Roberts and Autumn Burke were first, second and third in the girls 11-12 50-yard Freestyle. Cameron Wells Carter Hellums and Skylar Astorga were first, second and third in the U6 25-yard Butterfly.
Morgan Buelman was first in the girls 7-8 25-yard Butterfly.
Jack Hellams was first and Samuel Hamby was second in the boys 7-8 25-yard Butterfly. In the girls 9-10 25-yard Butterfly Kylie Cot, Fredria Spackman and Tniyah Jones finished first, second and third, respectively. In the boys 9-10 25-yard Butterfly Ben Parker was first, Logan Sawyer was second and Caleb Justiss was third. The girls 11-12 50-yard Butterfly saw Savannah Bonner take first.
In the boys 13 and over 50-yard Butterfly Ashton Ziglar was first.Julia Thomas was first in the girls 7-8 50-yard Freestyle.
Matthais Spackman also placed first in the boys 7-8 50-yard Freestyle. In the boys 9-10 50-yard Freestyle Caleb Justiss, Ben Parker and Logan Sawyer placed first, second and third.In the girls 11-12 100-yard Freestyle Camden Zackery placed first and Michele Romey finished second. Ireland Garrett placed first in the girls 13 and over 100-yard Freestyle.
In the boys 9-10 25-yard Backstroke, Caleb Justiss was first. In the girls 11-12 50 yard Backstroke Katie Roberts was first, Payton Gray was second and Kaytlin Bass was third. In the boys 13 and older 50-yard Backstroke Ashton Ziglar placed first and Tanner Wagoner finished second. Caron Thomas and Matthais Sackman finished first and second in the boys 7-8 25-yard Breaststroke.
Connor Bailey, Kyler Adams and Dylon Wagoner finished first, second and third in the boys 9-10 25-yard Freestyle.
Girls 11-12 50-yard Breaststroke saw Camden Zackery finishing first while Savannah Branner finished second and Kaytlin Bass finished third. Ashton Ziglar finished first in the boys 13 and older 50-yard Breaststroke.
