Vendor deadline set for July 8Published 4:17am Monday, June 24, 2013
The deadline is quickly approaching for vendors to apply for a spot at Wetumpka’s second annual River and Blues Music and Arts Festival. Arts and crafts until June 30 and food vendors have until July 8 to submit their applications to participate in the July 20 event.
Only 40 arts and crafts vendors will be chosen. A jury committee will review the items offered by each applying artist. Booth cost is $30 per 10-foot by 10-foot space. Arts and crafts exhibitors will be eligible for cash awards.
A limited number of food vendors will be accepted. Organizers will work to ensure there is little or no duplication of food items offered. Cost for food booths is $50 per 10-foot by 10-foot space.
Specific rules and regulations apply for both types of vendors.
For further information and applications for either food or arts and crafts booths, visit riverandblues.net. Those with questions concerning food vendor space should contact Tiffany Robinson at 334-567-5147. Anyone with additional questions about artist spaces should call Carole Jean Boyd at 334-868-9999 or Dylan Goodson at 256-496-6797.
Confirmed entertainers for River and Blues are: BLind Monty Hall Band, Jimi and the Fire Dogs, Lefty Collins Band, Sweet Licks Jazz Band, King Bee, Sunpie and the Louisiana Sunspots, Cockeyed Camel, Polar Opposites, Sam Marsal, Britt Johnson and Old School Blues Band.
The festival will feature two stages – the main stage behind the city administrative building and the Gold Star Park Stage.
In addition, a Kid’s Zone will be open in the park from 1 to 6 p.m. A barbecue contest and tasting event will be held in conjunction with the festival.
“The featured music isn’t the same as you can turn on the radio and hear any old time,” said Thad Hankins, one of the event organizers.
The festival is a family-oriented event. There will be no admission charge for attendees. Information is also available on the festival’s Facebook page.
