One man dead in Lake Martin accident

One man is dead and a female is injured as a result of a personal watercraft hitting a dock sometime early Friday morning on Lake Martin.
Alabama Marine Police Captain Matt Brooks confirmed a white male died as a result of the accident.
“We received a call around 6 a.m. (Friday) and we are still on the scene investigating the accident,” Brooks said.
Brooks said the name of the deceased will not be released until the family is notified.
The accident occurred in the Lake Hill Estates area of the lake, which is north of the U.S. Highway 280 river bridge off of the Tallapoosa River.
The female who was on the personal watercraft with the man was injured and transported to Russell Medical Center in Alexander City.
