The body of a 23-year-old Prattville man was recovered by members of the Region 4 Dive Team around 11:30 a.m. Sunday not far from where he jumped into the waters of Lake Jordan.
Darrell Kevin Lanier Jr. jumped from a popular area called “The Rock” between Mitchell Dam and Bonner’s Point on Lake Jordan Saturday evening.
“The man went down and never came back up,” said Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin. “The last time he was seen was about 6:45 p.m. (Saturday), and search and rescue crews have been on the scene since his recovery.”
This marks the second drowning in two years on Lake Jordan in which a dive team has been called into action.
