Annually, Stanhope Elmore hosts a football skills camp for Millbrook youth.  This year, the camp is going green in honor of New York Jets rookie Dee Milliner.

“It’s going to be the Dee Milliner Camp from now on, as long as he’s playing,” said Stanhope head football coach Jeff Foshee.

The camp is scheduled for July 9-11, from 9 a.m. to noon each day.

Milliner is scheduled to be in attendance at least for the first day of the camp. Registration is slated to begin July 9 at 8 a.m. Cost is $50 and campers will receive lunch each day and a camp T-shirt.

“We’re hoping to have about 100 kids,” said Foshee. “One year we had 90 and the next we had 55. It’s hard to tell. But, we are going to go out there and teach them a few skills.”

Milliner, who played defensive back for the Crimson Tide, was part of two BCS National Championship teams and was taken as the ninth pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Jets and is expected to compete for a starting spot.
