Bands to ‘Battle’ Saturday for Cotton Fest gig

The first event of the 2013 Alabama Cotton Festival takes place this weekends, as the finalists of an ongoing musical competition square off in a Battle of the Bands Saturday downtown.
Local and regional bands will square off for the privilege of opening for five-time Grammy winner Shenandoah, Nashville’s Keith Moody Band and popular Troy ensemble Fire Mountain at the 21st annual Cotton Festival Oct. 12 in Eclectic.
The event will get started at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, with the music starting around 11 and continuing until 4 p.m.
