•Ridge Church of Wetumpka will have an organizational gathering July 25 at 6:30 p.m. at Wetumpka Elementary School. Attendees can hear plans for Ridge Church this fall. Starting in August, the launch team will meet weekly.

•Rushenville Baptist Church will hold a one-day Vacation Bible School July 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Colossal Coaster World is open to children ages three to sixth grade. Everyone is welcome. For more info, call 334-541-2418.

•Elmore United Methodist Church, 40 Hatchett St. in Elmore, will host a Family Fun Day July 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Everything is free. There will be a free clothing giveaway, free school supplies and backpacks for children younger than 12 (while supplies last – child must be present), free games for children, free hamburgers, free hotdogs, free soft drinks, free horseshoe tournament and a gospel singing.

•Thelma Baptist Church Upward Soccer evaluation will be July 27, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Players can be registered online at

•Union Congregational Christian Church will host its annual homecoming service July 28 at 10:30 a.m. Guest singers will be Heartline. Everyone is welcome.

•Holtville Riverside Baptist Church will have its annual Family Fun Day July 28. The day will start with Mark Lanier in concert at 10:30 a.m. There w3ill be food and games for all in the evening. For more information and directions, call 334-569-2421.

•Oak Valley Station United Methodist Church will celebrate homecoming July 28. The worship service will begin at 11 a.m. with Dr. Phillip McVay bringing the message. The service will be followed with a covered dish luncheon. Revival will begin July 28 at 6 p.m. with Nathan Hamilton leading a service of music and song. From July 29-31, Rev. George Mathison will bring the message. The services will begin at 7:30 p.m. There will be covered dish suppers each night, Monday thru Wednesday, at 6:15. Everyone is cordially invited to attend. •Thelma Baptist Church Senior Adult VBS will be July 29-Aug. 1, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Participants will study facing fear and trusting God. This is the theme that the children studied in June. There will be a refreshment time each day except Aug. 1. On Aug. 1, VBS will start at 10 a.m. and end between 11 and 11:30 a.m. For info, visit or call 334-567-3665.

•Revivial services will be held July 29-31 at Union Congregational Christian Church, 8188 Lightwood Rd. in Deatsville. Bro. Heath Reese will bring the message at 7 each evening. Everyone is welcome.

•A benefit gospel singing will be held for Jeff Collier Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. at Sanctuary Worship Center, 9301 U.S. Hwy. 231 in Wetumpka. Artists for the concert will be Final Harvest, Spoken For, Calvin and Stephanie Thornton and the Dennis Family. There will be no admission charge, but a love offering will be taken. All proceeds will go to aid Bro. Jeff with medical expenses he has incurred. Everyone is welcome to attend. Come and enjoy a great night of gospel music.

•Thelma Baptist Church will offer a Beth Moore simulcast Sept. 14. The Living Proof live simulcast will feature Moore and worship leader Travis Cottrell. Cost is $15 per person. Sign up online at
•Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church hosts a noon salad luncheon the third Thursday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call 334-567-4225 for more information.

•Community Fellowshippers meet at Cain’s Chapel United Methodist Church every third Wednesday at 11 a.m. The gathering includes a devotion, program, prizes and a covered dish luncheon. Local pastors and families are encouraged to attend.

•First Presbyterian Church of Wetumpka holds a fellowship lunch every thrrd Sunday after worship.

•Celebrate Recovery, which deals with life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups, holds meetings every Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at Santuck Baptist Church.

•Hope For Healing Grief Support Group meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church Tallassee.

•Need a bus ride to church? Healing Waters Church of God in Eclectic offers bus rides to church for anyone who would like to attend, but does not have transportation. Call Steve Roberson at 334-252-1575 at least 24 hours in advance. Sunday services are at 9 a.m. (prayer), 10 a.m. (Sunday School), 11 a.m. (worship) and 6 p.m. (worship). Wednesday services are at 6 p.m. (prayer) and 7 p.m. (worship).

•River’s Edge Flea Market is open every Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. at East Tallassee United Methodist Church. All vendors welcome – new items, old items, crafts, youth groups, ball teams, baked goods, produce and food. Various booth costs available.
