C.E. (Bubber) Weldon, 90, a long-time resident of Wetumpka, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013.
His home for the last four years was Wesley Gardens Retirement Community in Montgomery.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 2 in the First United Methodist Church of Wetumpka with the Rev. Jay Wolf and the Rev. Steve MacInnis officiating.
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. until service time Aug. 2 at the church. Interment will follow in the Pine View Memorial Gardens cemetery with Gassett directing.
Mr. Weldon is survived by one son Steven E. Weldon of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and one daughter and son-in-law, Linda W. and David M. Fry of Montgomery; two granddaughters Emily Fry Goodwin and husband Peter Lloyd Goodwin of Greenville, S.C., and Katherine (Katie) Lynn Fry of Atlanta and four great grandchildren Nathaniel Oliver Goodwin, Isabelle Claire Goodwin, Priscilla Engel Goodwin and Abigail Harriet Goodwin.
Mr. Weldon was a gentleman that was active in Wetumpka’s religious, civic, educational, business and recreational life. His contributions to his community, church and family are an amazing legacy for all those that knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Gardens, a non-profit retirement community, 1555 Taylor Road, Montgomery, AL 36117.
