The Elmore County Historical Society crowned a new Peach Queen at its annual Peaches and Cream summer social in mid-July.
Society president Mike Hinson welcomed everyone, made a few announcements and then relinquished the program to Pat Harden, who has chaired the social for many years.
The 2012 Peach Queen Kathleen Holt relinquished her crown and title to the new 2013 queen Glenda Boyd.
Boyd was presented with a beautiful basket of Chilton County peaches.
She is a new member to the society and says she is looking forward to being an active member to help preserve the historical heritage of Wetumpka and Elmore County.
After honoring the new queen, everyone enjoyed the peachy refreshments and fellowship with old and new friends.
To add more enjoyment to the afternoon, numerous door prizes were given out.
Harden offered many thanks to the volunteers who helped make the social another great summer treat.
