An argument between two middle-age men led to gun fire in the Blue Ridge community Monday morning, according to Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin.
David Yates, 46, of Blue Pine Lane suffered a gunshot wound to the left arm which exited through his back, according to Franklin.
The shooter happened to be a man who lived at the same address as Yates.
The shooter, Jimmie Webb Jr., 66, is not believed to be related to Yates, but has some connection through a relative of Yates, Franklin said.
“We’re still not sure what the argument is about right now, but we are investigating and have Mr. Webb in custody,” Franklin said.
Webb was arrested and charged with first-degree assault. He is being held in the Elmore County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
Yates was transported to Baptist Medical Center South for treatment of the gunshot wound.
