Feaga resigns as county administratorPublished 9:02am Wednesday, October 9, 2013
Less than two years after filling the county’s administrator’s seat, a search for a new administrator begins.
Elmore County Administrator Lynda Feaga announced her immediate resignation Monday night, according to County Commission Chairman Joe Faulk (D4).
“She resigned for family reasons,” Faulk said. “I understand her father who lives in Texas is in bad health.”
The announcement was a surprise to Faulk and the rest of the commission.
“I didn’t know the matter was as serious as it was,” he said.
Feaga came on board as deputy administrator/public information officer in 2002.
In June 2012 she accepted the offer by the commission to become the county administrator.
“In 20 years of public service, I have never served with a person with more integrity and enthusiasm for her job as Lynda Feaga,” Faulk said.
The position will be advertised starting this weekend.
Faulk said the administrator is the most important position in county government.
“The person (the commission) selects will be qualified to handle the day-to-day operations of the county commission as well as the financial elements of the county.”
