Diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and stress -related health problems are all health concerns affecting more and more people each day. These topics and others will be discussed Oct . 26 during a health summit to be held at the Martin Luther King Recreation Center located on Lancaster Street in Wetumpka.
The summit will highlight information on current health topics from diseases to treatment to prescription drugs. The presentation team includes two nurse practitioners, an OB-GYN doctor and a physician who specializes in internal medicine.
The event is free and open to the public, and there will be a question and answer session.
Sponsors of the event are Omega Xi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc and District 2 Councilman Percy Gill.
The Elmore County Black History Museum located adjacent to the MLK Center will be open for tours before and after the program.
