Cain’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Slapout will hold a church-wide yard sale and estate sale Oct. 25, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.; and Oct. 26, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The sale will be inside at the church at 96 Lightwood Road and will be held rain or shine.


First Presbyterian Church of Wetumpka will host Trunk or Treat Oct. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. Everyone welcome.


The Rock Church, a new church in the Wetumpka area, will hold its first Fall Festival Oct. 26 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Weoka Community Center,  9745 Weoka Road in Wetumpka. One of the church’s goals is to foster community involvement and unity and each year will partner with a local charity or other nonprofit organization to help accomplish that goal. This year the church will partner with the Humane Society of Elmore County. Festival a ttendees are asked to bring a donation from the Humane Society’s basic needs list which can be found on the society’s website


•There will be a fall festival at Claud Independent Methodist Church Oct . 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Admission will be a canned good for the food pantry for needy families. Activities will be for children 12 and younger. Join the fun with a hayride, jumping house, cotton candy, dunking booth, cart rides, Duck Dynasty fun, cupcake walk, treats, etc. Claud Church is located at the intersection of Highway 14 and Highway 63 in Eclectic.


First United Methodist Church of Wetumpka will host its Fall Festival, Hallow Him, on Oct. 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church. The free event will include popcorn, hot dogs and hamburgers, cotton candy, duck pond, go fish, face painting, inflatable bounce house, bottle ring toss, costume contest and more. The annual FUMC Youth Boston Butt Sale will also begin Oct. 27. Butts are $30 each and pick up will be Dec. 7. All funds will go toward youth programming and missions.


Calvary Baptist Church in Wetumpka will have its Fall Festival 6-8 p.m. Oct. 27 at the church. There will be hot dogs, popcorn, games, music and good fellowship. Admission is free.


New Home Baptist Church in Titus will hold a Fall Festival Trunk ‘R’ Treat Oct. 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. The event will be held on the Sewell property at the corner of Sewell and Spigener roads. There will be jumping tents, popcorn, games, cotton candy, hot dogs, free candy, hay rides and more. For information, call 334-567-0923.

No charge for any activity or snacks. Cain’s Chapel is located in the Slapout/Holtville community at 96 Lightwood Road, Deatsville.


Bethel Worship Center in Wetumpka will host its annual Trunk or Treat Fall Fest Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. There will be free hot dogs and drinks for the whole family. Candy and prize drawings for sixth grade and younger – grand prize for kids an iPad Mini. Adult prize drawing for seventh grade and older. More activities for children include games, inflatables, costume characters and fun. Bring the whole family. For more information, call the church at 334-567-5754.


Thelma Baptist Church on Weoka Road will hold a Fall Festival Oct. 31 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.


Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church will hold a Fall Festival Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to join the fun for the whole family. There will be games with prizes, hay rides, inflatables, hot dogs, “Trunk or Treat” from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and a special performance of the Youth Praise Band during the evening.  Costumes are welcome (no scary costumes). The church is located at 3454 Fire Tower Road in the Redland area of Wetumpka, one half mile north of Redland Road on County Road 59.  For more information or further directions, call the church office at 334-567-4225.


Church at the Brook in Millbrook will host Trunk or Treat Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. Free food and prizes with jump blocks.


•Community Fellowshippers will not meet in October. Next meeting will be Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. at Cain’s Chapel United Methodist Church.


Hillside Baptist Church will have its Fall Festival 3-6 p.m. Nov. 3 at the church. There will be games, food and all kinds of fun.


New Freedom Ministries in Montgomery will celebrate the church’s anniversary Nov. 5-10. Services will be 7:30 each night and 2 p.m. on Sunday.


Central, Union and Pierce Chapel United Methodist Churches will have fall revival services Nov. 10 at Pierce Chapel UMC. David Larch of the Larch Family will lead the morning service which starts at 11 a.m. There will be a fellowship meal after the morning service. The evening service will start at 4:30 p.m. Rev. Presley Cousins of Plantersville UMC will lead the evening service. The gospel group Branded for Christ will sing at both services. Everyone welcome.


•The fourth annual Musical Salute to Veterans will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Wetumpka on Nov. 11. Everyone is invited, particularly veterans. Trinity Episcopal Church is on U.S. Highway 231, across from McDonald’s. For more information, contact Rev. Bob Henderson at 334-567-7582 or


•HorsePlay Drill Team has planned a special drama presentation and lunch Nov. 17 after Brush Poppers Cowboy Church service at Iron Horse Ranch, 3214 Weoka Rd., Wetumpka.


•The Episcopal Church Women of St. John’s Episcopal Church will present its bazaar Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bazaar will be held in the education building of the church at 113 Madison Ave. in downtown Montgomery. This year’s shops will include a well-stocked pantry full of homemade goods; the Treasure Attic with preowned goods including books, toys, housewares, artwork and more; the Handmade Room with crafts, unique gifts and holiday items; the Garden Shop filled with plants, pots and ornamental yard and garden items; Fine Arts with paintings, drawings, sculptures, prints, folk art, etc.; and the Silent Auction of donated antiques, silver, crystal and decorative wares. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church Parish Hall. The bazaar is free and open to the public. Tickets for the luncheon are $10 each and may be purchased in advance in the church office or on the day of the event. All proceeds benefit community outreach projects. Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church hosts a noon salad luncheon the third Thursday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call 334-567-4225 for more information.


First Presbyterian Church of Wetumpka holds a fellowship lunch every third Sunday after worship.


•Celebrate Recovery, which deals with life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups, holds meetings every Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at Santuck Baptist Church.


•Need a bus ride to church? Healing Waters Church of God in Eclectic offers bus rides to church for anyone who would like to attend, but does not have transportation. Call Steve Roberson at 334-252-1575 at least 24 hours in advance. Sunday services are at 9 a.m. (prayer), 10 a.m. (Sunday School), 11 a.m. (worship) and 6 p.m. (worship). Wednesday services are at 6 p.m. (prayer) and 7 p.m. (worship).


•Friendship Closet, a ministry of Friendship Baptist Church, is open the first Tuesday of each month from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Those who need clothes, shoes, etc. for women, men and children, may visit.


•Hope For Healing Grief Support Group meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church Tallassee.


•River’s Edge Flea Market is open every Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. at East Tallassee United Methodist Church. All vendors welcome – new items, old items, crafts, youth groups, ball teams, baked goods, produce and food. Various booth costs available.
