Early-morning fire destroys home in Eclectic

Firefighters from Eclectic and the surrounding area battled an early-morning blaze Saturday on Alabama Highway 63 near Brookley Drive, south of Eclectic.

When firefighters arrived around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, they found the home engulfed in flame.

According to posts on Facebook, the home was called the Turner Home.

It was occupied by a family with a 10-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter. The mother, Vanessa L. Jarrell, said the family was able to get out of the house safely, but lost everything.

Members of the Eclectic Fire Department are collection clothes for the family.

Jarrell posted that the family’s sizes were the following:

Son is in a 12 pants, youth medium shirt and size 8 shoe.

Daugther is a 8 juniors in pants, adult small top and size 9 shoe.

Mother is in a size 12 pants large to x-large top and 10 1/2 shoe.

Father is 38 in pants large or x-large shirt and size 11 shoe.

“I want to thank everyone in advance for there help and prayers. May God bless each of you,” Jarrell posted before noon Saturday.
