Published 11:23am Thursday, November 14, 2013

The second annual Christmas Faire at the Alabama River Region Arts Center will begin Thursday, offering a selection of personally handcrafted items for purchase. The faire will be open every Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m. and each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Nov. 14 through Dec. 22.

“The faire showcases fine art, handmade jewelry, pottery, quilts and crafts of all kinds made by local artisans,” said Theresa Wayne, co-executive director of ARRAC.

Wayne said the faire is a unique shopping experience. Displays of items for sale exhibited on Christmas trees and decorated tables are set up in the ARRAC lobby and corridor.

“There are a lot of festivals and arts and crafts fairs around, but they are just a day or two and mostly outside,” said Wayne. “ This is a little bit different.”

A reception will be held this Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. to officially introduce the faire.

For more information about the faire, call Wayne at 334-300-9394, leave a message at the center at 334-578-9485 or visit www.arrac.org.

The arts center is located at 300 W. Tallassee Street in Wetumpka, on the former Wetumpka High/Junior High campus.
