Wetumpka Police Department Capt. Terry E. McInnis, a 38-year law enforcement veteran and resident of Wetumpka, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at the age of 60.
The family received friends 5-8 p.m. Nov. 18 at Gassett Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 19 at Gassett Funeral Home Chapel with WPD Chaplain John Gallups officiating. Interment with Fraternal Order of Police Honors will follow at Pine View Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bill Lee officiating and Gassett Funeral Home directing.
Captain McInnis is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shannon Gantt McInnis; son, Chris Colley; granddaughters, Morgan Colley and Taylor Colley; father-in-law, John W. Brown; and beloved dog, Maggie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde McInnis and mother-in-law, Bobby C. Brown.
Pallbearers will be members of the Wetumpka Police Department.
Honorary pallbearers are the entire work force of the Wetumpka Police Department.
