Mercer newest ECEDA board chairPublished 1:50pm Sunday, December 29, 2013
That is Bart Mercer’s mantra.
Mercer moved forward as the Elmore County Economic Development Authority’s board chairman after serving two years as vice chair.
In a matter six months, ECEDA has seen some change.
It has a new executive director and a new home office.
Now it has a new board chair.
“We want to make sure we progress forward,” said Mercer, who was voted new chair at the Dec. 19 board meeting. “We are working to continue to improve our organization with every effort possible while also adjusting to change.”
Mercer, who works in property management and is owner of a floral shop, was a representative for the town of Elmore on the ECEDA board.
Leisa Finley, executive director for ECEDA, said Mercer is a great asset for the county as a whole.
“I’ve personally known him all my life,” she said. “He certainly puts the organization before his self interest every time.”
Moving forward, Mercer said jobs will continue to be a focus for ECEDA.
“We’ll continue to work hard to help Elmore County create jobs,” he said.
