Warming stations opening at noon in Elmore County

The Elmore County Emergency Management Agency & Homeland Security Office will open “warming stations” in Elmore County starting at noon today.

opening as “Warming Stations” in Elmore County beginning at 12 noon today.

The stations are to assist in helping residents warm up during today’s and tomorrow’s bitterly cold weather in which wind chill factors are expected to reach below zero at some point in the next 48 hours.

The following four locations will open for 24-hour operations for anyone lacking sufficient heating and warmth from the frigid temperatures expected to

dominate our area over the next 48 – 72 hours.

“Warming Stations” with 24-hour Operations:

First Baptist Church – 1279 Friendship Rd, Tallassee

First United Methodist Church of Millbrook – 3350 Edgewood Rd, Millbrook

First United Methodist of Tallassee – 1 Jordan Ave, Tallassee

Robinson Springs United Methodist Church – 5980 Main St., Millbrook


The following location will open for limited hours on Monday and Tuesday, beginning at noon until 6 pm only.

Millbrook Baptist Church – 3431 Brown Rd, Millbrook. OPEN: Jan 6 to 6 pm only  and Jan. 7 from noon until 6 p.m. only
