Escapees captured in Boligee

A man convicted of robbery in Elmore County is one of two reported escapees who were captured Tuesday night at a gas station off of Interstate 20/59 in Boligee, according to a release from the Alabama Department of Corrections.

Dallas Antonio Long, 29, who was convicted of first-degree robbery, was not accounted for at his assigned work area and escaped with Kevin Lee Hardie, 20, who was convicted of first-degree theft of property, from the Decatur Work Release Center.

The two were found off exit 32 in Greene County and were taken into custody by Alabama State Troopers.

In addition to facing an escape charge they are also facing a theft of property charge after stealing a vehicle.

Long is serving 45-years sentence for robbery, while is Hardie is serving a 10-year sentence for theft.

Both were booked into the Greene County Detention Center in Eutaw.
