In honor of their 60th wedding anniversary, which was Jan. 29, 2014, Donald and Shirley Richardson were honored with a celebration by their son Don.

The celebration took place from 2-4 p.m. Feb. 2 at Cain’s Chapel Church  Family Life Center in Holtville.

Pastor Suzie Beeson performed a rededication ceremony to the delight of the couple.

Hosting was Loretta Mosley, Stacy Martin, Peter Spiers, Richard Wilson, and son, Don Richardson. Many thanks and you all did a great job.

The Diamond theme was seen in the white butter cream bride’s cake with crystal ribbons around the top and bottom, and a cluster of white butter cream roses with crystals and silver ribbons.

The chocolate Grooms cake had chocolate butter cream icing, chocolate ganache, and large chocolate shavings. They were made by the very talented Pam Hawkins of Incredible Edibles. Her cakes look and taste great. She also made the delicious cheese straws.

Also served was chicken salad, crackers, nuts, cantaloupe, green and red grapes, pineapple, and strawberries.

Beverages were coffee and white grape juice punch. White table clothes, crystal and silver candle holders, cut crystal glass, silver trays, and eight dozen white roses were used.

Donald and Shirley would like to thank the 90 family and friends which were in attendance and for the many cards and gifts.

A special thanks and prayer to Douglas Carol and family, Douglas passed away six days after the celebration. It was a true blessing spending the time that day with Douglas and his family.

Donald and Shirley have had a happy good life together and look forward to the future together.
