Seth Hendon’s two RBIs on two hits paced the Benjamin Russell Wildcats in its walk-off victory over the Elmore County Panthers in the first game of the Field of Dreams Tournament hosted by the Tallassee Tigers. Aaron Kimberly and Brady Knight accounted for an RBI each for the Panthers in the loss. Elmore County (1-4) will play Dadeville in its second tournament game Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.

BOYS SOCCER

Goals scored by five different Indians, led by two from senior John Michael Phillips, paved the way for Wetumpka’s victory over Elmore County and its second consecutive win. The Indians (2-1-1) travel to St. James Tuesday, and the Panthers (0-3) will take on Prattville Christian Academy on Monday, March 3.

SOFTBALL

Destinee Brewer, Ashley Dixon and Alex Christian each turned in a three-RBI outing to fuel the Wetumpka Lady Indians strong offensive night to a 15-0 in just three innings. Wetumpka (6-1) hosts Auburn Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Lady Indian outfielder Sydney McKissick drove in the game-winning run off of Sylacauga’s McKenzie Hosey in the bottom of the fifth to give the Wetumpka JV softball team the 3-2 victory Monday. The Lady Indians (7-1) play Auburn at home Tuesday at 4 p.m.
