Only days remain for Alabama citizens to register to vote in the June 3 Primary Election. Next Friday is the final day to register to be able to vote in the upcoming election.

According to the Secretary of State’s Office, there are 44,557 registered voters in the county — 41,123 active and 3,434 inactive.

Voters may register at the local Board of Registrars Office, located in the Old Elmore County Courthouse in Wetumpka. Voter registration applications are offered online at www.sos.alabamavotes.gov. The forms can be printed and filled out, then delivered or mailed to the local voter registration office.

Voters may locate polling places and access more information about their registration status by contacting their county board of registrars.

If a voter has moved, they need to update their voter registration information with the county board of registrars so they may cast a regular ballot in their correct polling place for this election.

“We want to ensure that every person who is eligible to vote is able to do so,” said Alabama Secretary of State Jim Bennett. “My staff and I will continue to work diligently to promote fair and honest elections for the citizens of Alabama. We’re here to serve.”
