Howard E. Peck, 82, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-11 a.m. May 31 at the First Presbyterian Church in Wetumpka.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. May 31 at the First Presbyterian Church in Wetumpka with the Rev. Jonathan Yarboro officiating. Burial will follow in the Wetumpka City Cemetery with Wetumpka Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife Mary Peck, children; Kennon J. Wilson (Ginger), Caroline M. Wilson; Grandson, Vaughn Wilson; brother in-law, Larry Payne; sister in-law, Mary Ann Peterson (Kim); several nieces, newphews and cousins.
Mr. Peck was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and a avid Tennessee Vol fan.
He was a runner for 45 years and logged more than 28,000 miles.
He was also in the Army Infantry and served his country in Korea.
He served as a volunteer driver for Meals On Wheels and a co-founder and president of The Friends of the Wetumpka Library, a life long member and elder of the Presbyterian Church.
Honorary pallbearers will be DC Spivey, Paul Schroeder, Ron Rudd, Richard Cumbie, and all the ladies of the “Lunch Bunch.”
A very heart-felt thanks to the extraordinary care given to Howard by Sam Crenshaw, Enid Kendrick, Faye Mays and also a very special thank you to Gentiva Hospice.
