Russell Lands names COO

The Russell Lands, Inc. Board of Directors announced on Friday that David B. Sturdivant has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.  

He will continue to report to Thomas T. Lamberth, President and Chief Executive Officer.

“I am pleased to announce David’s promotion to Chief Operating Officer,” said Tom Lamberth.  “Serving as the company’s Chief Financial Officer since 2003, David has been a key member of our executive management team for many years.”

Sturdivant has also had direct operational responsibility for the company’s hardware and building materials business, Russell Do it Centers.  In Sturdivant’s new role as COO, his position will be expanded to include more operational responsibility with the company’s other business units.

“I am excited and really appreciate the support of thei board and the confiednce they have shown in me,” Strudviant said. “I look forward to the opprotunities that lie ahead.”

Sturdivant, 48, joined Russell Lands in 1993 as Comptroller. He is a graduate of Auburn University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

He and his wife, Laurie, have three children, Bailey, Sam and Scott.

He is active in community affairs having previously served as President of the Lake Martin Area United Way and as Treasurer of the Alexander City Rotary Club for many years.

He is past-President of the Alexander City Board of Education and was recently reappointed to serve a second term as a member of the board.
