Mt. Zion #3 Missionary Baptist Church will hold Homecoming and Revival celebrations in July. The church is located at 1813 Luke Paschal Road in Eclectic. Pastor is Rev. JaCorey D. Calloway. Homecoming service will be July 13 at 2 p.m. Guest will be Rev. Willie J. Morgan, Jr. of First Baptist Church in Elmore. Revival will be July 14-16 at 7 p.m. each day. Monday – Rev. Sylvester Poole, Jr. of New Light Baptist Church in Montgomery. Tuesday – Rev. Gregory Sutton of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Tuskegee. Wednesday – Rev. Jonathan Temple of Walker Chapel Church in Tuskegee. All are welcome. Grace Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School July 14-18, 6 to 8:15 p.m. each day. This year’s program is called “King of My Heart: Who’s on the Throne?” All brave knights and fair maidens ages 3-12 (or entering seventh grade this fall) are invited. There will be silly skits, exciting Bible stories, crafts, games to test valor and more. Dinner will be provided each night. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. daily. New Home Baptist Church of Titus will host Weird Animals 2014 Vacation Bible School July 13-18, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Each evening will begin with a light supper for kids at 6 p.m. The program will run from 6:20 – 8:30. The church is located at 1605 New Home Road, Titus.

 

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will hold an Elmore Baptist Association Senior Adult Celebration July 16. Worship will be at 10 a.m., lunch at 11:30 a.m. and a concert at 12:15 p.m. Jack Ray will preach. Donna Allen will provide music with Belles and Beaus singing. Bring a sack lunch. Drink and dessert will be provided.

 

•Elmore County Hispanic Vacation Bible School will be held July 21-25, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Thelma Baptist Church. All Elmore Baptist churches are encouraged to unite in a single evangelistic effort to reach out to the local Hispanic community. Needs include transportation/drivers to pick up students; bilingual and English speaking volunteers for teaching, recreation and crafts; meals for each day of VBS; and prayers. Santuck Baptist Church will hold a “Community Celebration – Together We Are Better” Aug. 3 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy an afternoon of fun, food, fellowship, inflatables, games, live music and more.

•Community Fellowshippers meet at Cain’s Chapel United Methodist Church every third Wednesday at 11 a.m. The gathering includes devotion, program, prizes and covered dish luncheon. Local pastors and families encouraged to attend.

 

Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church hosts a noon salad luncheon the third Thursday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call 334-567-4225 for more information.

 

First Presbyterian Church of Wetumpka holds a fellowship lunch every third Sunday after worship.

 

•Celebrate Recovery, which deals with life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups, holds meetings every Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at Santuck Baptist Church.

 

•Need a bus ride to church? Healing Waters Church of God in Eclectic offers bus rides to church for anyone who would like to attend, but does not have transportation. Call Steve Roberson at 334-252-1575 at least 24 hours in advance. Sunday services are at 9 a.m. (prayer), 10 a.m. (Sunday School), 11 a.m. (worship) and 6 p.m. (worship). Wednesday services are at 6 p.m. (prayer) and 7 p.m. (worship).

 

•Friendship Closet, a ministry of Friendship Baptist Church, is open the first Tuesday of each month from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Those who need clothes, shoes, etc. for women, men and children, may visit.

 

•Hope For Healing Grief Support Group meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Tallassee.

 

•River’s Edge Flea Market is open every Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. at East Tallassee United Methodist Church. All vendors welcome – new items, old items, crafts, youth groups, ball teams, baked goods, produce and food. Various booth costs available.
