AU Club hosting voice of the Tigers at steak dinner

Published 9:40am Wednesday, July 16, 2014

The Voice of the Auburn Tigers Rod Bramblett will be the keynote speaker July 29 when the Elmore County Club holds its annual steak dinner and spring meeting at Must Stop Cafe in Wetumpka.

The club members will get a chance to ask plenty of questions of Bramblett given it will be just a few days removed of Media Days in Birmingham.

The club’s dinner will begin with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and dinner to follow at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $35 for each person.

Club president Kevin Taylor asks that those who are planning to attend to contact him at 220-0234.

The club is asking that tickets be purchased by July 22 to ensure an accurate head count.

“We are honored to have Rod join us and share with us some insight to the Tigers’ defense of the SEC championship as well as some of his great calls from the magical 2013 season,” Taylor said.

In addition to dinner with Bramblett, the club will also have various auction items for those in attendance to bid upon.

The club will also have its annual drawing for a pair of season tickets for this upcoming football season. Tickets can be purchased from various club members and at the dinner.

The drawing will be held Aug. 21 at Must Stop Cafe.

Tickets for the raffle are $20 each.

Proceeds from the steak dinner as well as the season ticket raffle will benefit the Elmore County Auburn Club Scholarship, which is awarded each year to an incoming freshman of Auburn’s from Elmore County.

Taylor reminds Auburn alumni and friends alike that you do not have to be a member of the Auburn Alumni Association to be a member of the Elmore County Auburn Club.

“That has always been a misconception of the club,” he said. “Those who love Auburn and cheer for Auburn are members of our Elmore County Auburn Club, so our doors are always open to fellow Auburn fans.”
