•The Kempters will be in concert July 26 at Antioch Baptist Church in Weoka. There will be a finger food supper at 5:30 p.m., followed by singing at 6:30 p.m. The church is located at 1115 Antioch Road.


Calvary Baptist Church in Wetumpka will hold a Brotherhood Breakfast July 27 at 7:30 a.m.


•The gospel group The Cavaliers will be in concert at Eclectic United Methodist Church July 27 at 6 p.m. A love offering will be taken to assist their ministry.


Tabernacle Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School July 28-30 from 3 to 6 p.m. each day at the Jeanette Barrett Civic Room in Wetumpka. Theme will be Empowering Youth to be Fishermen of God. “Come, follow me Jesus said, and I will make you fishers of men.” – Matthew 4:19. Tabernacle Baptist Church is located at 1020 West Tallassee Street in Wetumpka.


Agape Assembly of God, 1076 Kowaliga Road in Eclectic, will hold a Back to School Bash July 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. This is a community wide event for students in grades K-12. There will be free food and outside games and activities. Come prepared to get wet. There will be a guest speaker, Eric Gillis, ministries director at East Alabama Youth for Christ in Auburn. Santuck Baptist Church will hold a “Community Celebration – Together We Are Better” Aug. 3 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy an afternoon of fun, food, fellowship, inflatables, games, live music and more.


Calvary Baptist Church in Wetumpka will be “Praying for Schools” Aug. 3 at 4:30 p.m. at a special prayer time at local school campuses.


•The Tabernacle Baptist Church family invites everyone to come and share in their Community Outreach/Homecoming Worship Service. It will be held Aug. 3, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Martin Luther King Center in Wetumpka. Refreshments will be served. Augustus S. •The Elmore County Food Pantry will present Gold City Aug. 9 at First Baptist Church in Wetumpka. The event will be a fundraiser for the food pantry. For further information, email


•The 22nd annual Gospel On The Green will be held Aug. 9 at Equality United Methodist Church. This year’s guest will be the Fraiser Family. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with music starting at 6 p.m. Free admission. Refreshments will be served with all proceeds to be used for local church missions.


•Community Fellowshippers meet at Cain’s Chapel United Methodist Church every third Wednesday at 11 a.m. The gathering includes devotion, program, prizes and covered dish luncheon. Local pastors and families encouraged to attend.


Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church hosts a noon salad luncheon the third Thursday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call 334-567-4225 for more information.


First Presbyterian Church of Wetumpka holds a fellowship lunch every third Sunday after worship.


•Celebrate Recovery, which deals with life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups, holds meetings every Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at Santuck Baptist Church.


•Need a bus ride to church? Healing Waters Church of God in Eclectic offers bus rides to church for anyone who would like to attend, but does not have transportation. Call Steve Roberson at 334-252-1575 at least 24 hours in advance. Sunday services are at 9 a.m. (prayer), 10 a.m. (Sunday School), 11 a.m. (worship) and 6 p.m. (worship). Wednesday services are at 6 p.m. (prayer) and 7 p.m. (worship).


•Friendship Closet, a ministry of Friendship Baptist Church, is open the first Tuesday of each month from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Those who need clothes, shoes, etc. for women, men and children, may visit.


•Hope For Healing Grief Support Group meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Tallassee.


•River’s Edge Flea Market is open every Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. at East Tallassee United Methodist Church. All vendors welcome – new items, old items, crafts, youth groups, ball teams, baked goods, produce and food. Various booth costs available.
