Milliner: ‘I’m the best’Published 8:37am Monday, July 28, 2014
Just one year in the league and N.Y. Jets cornerback Dee Milliner has made a statement he now has the entire season to prove.
“I’m the best. I’m not going to say that another man that plays the same position…and say he’s better than me? I can’t do that,” Milliner told Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News on Saturday.
The Stanhope Elmore alum who was the ninth pick overall in the 2013 NFL Draft had a shaky start to his rookie year, but came on strong toward the end.
He started 12 of the 13 games he appeared in and finished the season with 56 total tackles and three interceptions.
His best game of his rookie year came in the last week of the regular season with four tackles and two interceptions against Miami.
The Jets opened training camp last Wednesday. Their preseason opener against Indianapolis is a couple weeks away.
Is Milliner the best cornerback in the NFL?
He says he is.
We’ll find out this season.
