A seventh-grade Millbrook Middle School teacher was placed on paid administrative leave on Monday, according to Elmore County Schools Deputy Superintendent Andre Harrison.

Harrison said Millbrook police as well as members of the Alabama Department of Human Resources are also investigating the case.

“Under the advisement from our legal counsel, we are not going to comment any further about the case,” Harrison said.

Harrison said this is the only case where a teacher has been put on administrative leave since the start of the school year, which was almost two weeks ago.
