David Goodwin
A familiar face will return to the local news scene Monday. David Goodwin will join the staff of The Wetumpka Herald and The Observer as the news editor.
Much of Goodwin’s focus will be aimed on Eclectic, and he will also work to expand the newspaper group’s coverage in the Tallassee area. In addition, Goodwin will cover county government for Price Publications Inc.
“We’re all very happy to have David join our staff,” said Peggy Blackburn, managing editor. “I’m familiar with his work, and I know he will do an excellent job for us.”
Goodwin, who graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelors degree in journalism, previously worked at The Observer on two separate occasions. He has also worked for several other newspapers, including The Alex City Outlook, The Demopolis Times, The Opelika Auburn News and The Montgomery Advertiser.
Goodwin lives in Wallsboro with his wife and two children.
