Damion Bruno, 41, of Clanton pleaded guilty on information to two counts of murder Dec. 19.

According to court records, the state recommended Bruno be sentenced to 30 years for each crime to be served concurrently as part of a plea agreement.

Bruno will be sentenced by Circuit Judge Sibley Reynolds. A sentencing date has not been set.

Bruno pleaded guilty before the case was ever presented to an Elmore County Grand Jury.

The assault and boating under the influence charges were dismissed after Bruno pleaded guilty to the murder counts.

He was arrested in late July and charged with two counts of murder, boating under the influence of alcohol, one count of first-degree assault and two counts of second-degree assault in a July 4 fatal boat crash on Lake Jordan that claimed the lives of Clay Jackson, 26, of Deatsville and Travis House, 17, of Marbury.

Bruno has pending a wrongful death lawsuit in civil court filed by Wahoo and Susan House, parents of the late teenager who was entering his senior year at Marbury High School.
