The weather was almost perfect Sunday for a float down the Coosa River.
Blue skies, lower humidity and not too hot. There wasn’t too much traffic in the way of kayaks either. Several couples and families made the float from Jordan Dam to Wetumpka and most braved the Class III rapid at Moccasin Gap just like the whitewater kayakers did the day before for the Coosa Whitewater Festival.

Cliff Williams / TPI There is some motorboat traffic on the Coosa River between Jordan Dam and Wetumpka. The rocks force them to travel a narrow path but kayakers have free run of the water.
