After three years at the helm of the Stanhope Elmore baseball program, the Mustangs have decided to part ways with coach Wes Dunsieth. Stanhope compiled an overall record of 39-64 during Dunsieth’s tenure while going 7-5 in area play.

The Stanhope Elmore football team has seen major improvements in each of the first two years under coach Brian Bradford. The Mustangs look to continue that trend this season and it all starts with the team’s performance during spring practice. 

The Stanhope Elmore softball team saw its season come to a close Friday at the Class 6A East Central Regional in Oxford. After finishing second in its area, the Mustangs drew Helena in the first round of the tournament.

After an eventful but rain-shortened opening day at the East Central Regional, there were several changes made to Friday's schedule in Oxford. With more rain on the forecast for the weekend, games are in full swing and ahead of schedule on Friday morning.

There’s that common saying among coaches it’s hard to beat a team three times. No one can quite explain why. Maybe it’s because the teams know each other so well. Maybe it’s because one team gets complacent. Maybe it’s because the other team is that much more fired up.
