Cliff Williams / TPI Edgewood’s Avery White (1) sets the ball for her team mates.

FIRST TEAM

Ally Orr, Elmore County

Orr was the catalyst for the Panthers who won 19 games this year. Orr lit up the stat sheet, stuffing all categories with insanely high numbers. The stat that might be the most impressive was her serving percentage. Orr finished the year with 62 aces to complement a 95% success rate at the line. Orr had 376 kills and 387 digs as well, displaying her elite ability to play effectively anywhere on the court.

Zoie Holmes, Stanhope Elmore

Holmes was a dynamic piece to the Mustangs this year as she provided much of the production in every facet this season. In a season that saw the Mustangs accomplish a 15-9 record, Holmes was a major factor especially on the offensive side of things as she finished the year with 360 assists. Holmes also led her team with 36 aces on 192 successful serves this season as she dominated the role for the Mustangs.

Avery White, Edgewood Academy

The Wildcat senior led her squad to a state championship — the second in the last two years — helping to establish Edgewood Academy as the premier powerhouse in volleyball. White did everything for her team this year, as she produced big stat totals in every category. White finished the year with 247 kills, 82 aces, 197 digs, and 317 assists.

Bailea Boone, Holtville

Boone was amazing for the Bulldogs this season as she provided production in multiple aspects of the game all season long. Despite a down year for Holtville, Boone’s performance was one of the bright spots for this program which is prided on success. Having played for several years now, Boone provided great leadership for the younger players on the roster on top of racking up individual statistics.

Ashlynn Turner, Wetumpka

In a record-breaking year, Turner led the Indians to a 16-17 season by averaging 19.7 digs per match this year. The junior was named captain for Wetumpka last year, and definitely lived up to the title as she was consistent all season for the Indians. Turner’s 612 digs placed her in the top three of Class 6A while also being in the top 10 of Class 6A with 85 sets played.

Reese Gough, Tallassee

Tallassee was led by freshman middle hitter Reese Gough, who has shown rapid growth in both her game and in her physical stature as the freshman stands at 5-foot-11. Her size and athleticism create a dynamic recipe for success. She is the vocal and spiritual leader for her team also. Gough is also a multi-sport athlete for the Tigers.
