The Elmore County softball team had a busy week to kick off the season, playing six games in just under a week. Now, the team sits at 3-3 on the year.
Currently, Addison Hicks sits atop the totem pole in the batting department with a team-high .696 batting average. She has 16 hits through six games paired with two doubles and 10 runs scored. Raevyn Barris sits right behind her with a batting average of .444 with eight hits and four runs scored. Addi Stephenson is in third with a batting average of .421 but is second on the team in runs scored with eight so far.
Pitching has been split between four players with Lalah Culpepper seeing the most innings so far. Through 15 innings in the year, she has surrendered 18 hits and 17 runs through six games while striking out 16 and walking nine. Bailey Kennedy and Stephenson have each seen six games in the circle so far, surrendering 16 hits and 17 runs combined while walking 12 batters and striking out eight. Finally, Bailey Gardner is the last player to receive time in the circle. Through five innings she’s surrendered seven hits and four runs but walked two batters and struck out four.
It’ll be another busy week for the Panthers with Stanhope Elmore on Tuesday and Wetumpka on Thursday.
