A traffic stop in Wetumpka led to an arrest early Saturday morning.
Officers with the Wetumpka Police Department pulled over Rukeim Towns, 29, of Alexander City.
“During the course of the stop officers found illegal prescription pills in trafficking amounts,” Wetumpka police chief Ed Reeves said.
Towns was arrested and charged with drug trafficking, first-degree possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Elmore County Jail. According to jail records, Towns posted a $1,515,000 bond Sunday afternoon.
Reeves said the incident remains under investigation.
