A Montgomery man took his own life after an Alabama State Trooper conducted a traffic stop around 9 p.m. Sunday near the entrance of Wind Creek Casino in Wetumpka.
A Wind Creek Tribal Police officer assisted in the stop on U.S. Highway 231.
During the stop, Raymond Dawkins, 56, produced a firearm, shot and killed himself.
The State Bureau of Investigation Task Force is investigating the incident, and no other information has been released.
The task force said it will turn the findings over to the district attorney.
