U.S. Air Force said: "The Thunderbirds performed this photo chase to showcase independence and freedom."

Mount Rushmore is a granite sculpture featuring the 60-foot-high faces of four U.S. presidents—George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln—symbolising the nation's founding and development.

The Thunderbirds fly six F‑16 Fighting Falcons in precise, high‑speed manoeuvres and tight formations that often bring aircraft within 1.5 feet of each other.
