Wednesday was not only a big day for Cederian Morgan, but for the community as well.
The five-star Benjamin Russell wide receiver finally made his long-awaited decision to commit to the University of Alabama, adding to its already impressive Class of 2026 recruiting cycle. And now, puts himself in the history books as one of the most prolific athletes to come out of Alexander City and adds to the lengthy list of notable pass catchers to come out of Benjamin Russell.
Former teammates Corri Milliner and Malcolm Simmons are making waves in college football, while NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens was in attendance for Morgan’s decision.
Morgan is completely deserving of the praise and recognition he’s received throughout his athletic career, and as the Alexander City Outlook, we could not be more grateful to have played a part in it. He showed not only us, but the upcoming stars nestled in Alexander City and around Tallapoosa County, how hard work and determination can pay off with a full-ride scholarship to a major in-state University.
Although the TPI newsroom is divided amongst the many different SEC teams we grew a fandom for, one thing is for certain — we all can't wait to root for Cederian to take the next steps in his career. Thankfully, we still have one more football season to light up the field before he does so at the next level.
Congratulations to Cederian on your commitment to the University of Alabama.
