Watch the hair-raising moment a daredevil scaled a 26-story building before leaping from the top with a parachute.

George King, 25, spent the night at the Radisson Blu hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Thursday, July 31, before getting up at 4 am to climb to the top of it.

He solo climbed up the exterior of the building on August 1 before jumping off the roof with a parachute on his back.

The 86-meter climb - which George did without ropes or any other assistance - took him 15 minutes.

He wore a head camera, and friends took video and pictures of his stunt using a drone and a camera.

People spotted the daredevil when he was halfway up, and the police arrived at the three-quarter mark, George says.

At the top, George ran across the roof, kicked off his climbing shoes, and leapt off.

He used a small parachute, called a pilot chute, to open the larger one on his back, and said the descent took just 15 seconds.

After landing, a euphoric George lay on his back and lit up a cigarette. He was arrested and later fined €300.

George, who was raised in Oxford and lives in Berlin currently, has climbed many buildings around the world - including the Shard in London, the Tate Modern, and Europe's tallest rollercoaster in Spain.

George, a public speaker, said: "This was amazing, I was absolutely euphoric when I got to the bottom.

"But it was also terrifying.

"In the days before, I have this constant dialogue - one part of me telling myself I don't have to do this, and another part knowing I will do it.

"The day before, I have to accept that this might be my last night, but I know the probability of something going wrong is small; I plan and train well.

"This was such a mixture of experiences - climbing is so peaceful and mindful, then base jumping is fast, aggressive, loud, and basically a sensory overload.

"Base jumping is quite new for me, but I've trained and I'm in control.

"It's terrifying to see the ground rushing up to meet you."

George says he's been climbing all his life.

He said, "I've climbed since I was a child, it's been my way of leaning into the fear and managing it.

"I don't usually smoke, but I do like a few cigarettes after a stunt like this."

This building held particular significance for George, who got up 79 metres of it in 2021 but had to climb down because of loose panelling.

He has been banned from going back to Korea, he said, after authorities forced him to turn back when he was half way up the country's tallest building.

Of the Raddison Blu, he said: "This is such a brutal building I just had to conquer it so this was a redemption climb for me and felt really really special."

The police met George at the top of the building, he claims, but waited while he prepared for his parachute jump safely.
