Four arrested on meth trafficking and possession

Elmore County Sheriff’s Office reported details of a local drug bust involving four Wetumpka residents, two charged with trafficking methamphetamine and two more later charged with possession of the drug.

On Monday, Sheriff Bill Franklin relayed the details of the Friday arrests of two men in the areas of Balm and Dexter roads for charges of trafficking methamphetamine.

Franklin said he was “out on a search warrant right now” as he spoke about the charges of Brandon Fuller, 47, and Boyce Estes, 45.

Altogether Franklin said four related arrests were made Friday.

He said it was the result of the Central Alabama Drug Task Force’s “extensive ongoing investigation,” which had lasted several months.

Fuller and Estes, who Franklin said knew one another, both received a $250,000 bond, Franklin said.

However Fuller received an additional $40,000 due to four counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, bringing his total bond amount to $290,000, Franklin said.

He said the charges stemmed from trafficking “a large amount of methamphetamine” in a vehicle.

“I would say it’s a significant amount of meth to be found on one person trafficking in one area,” Franklin said.

A separate search warrant later Friday in the Wilson Street area resulted in the arrest of Diane and Daniel Allen, 58 and 57, Franklin said.

He said both received unlawful possession of controlled substance and paraphernalia charges and both were placed in jail on $6,000 bonds.

Fuller and Estes, Franklin said remained in Elmore County Jail, while the Allens had been released.

For at least two of the people involved, it is apparently not their first time arrested on charges involving methamphetamine.

According to a Middle District U.S. Attorney’s Office Department of Justice release in April 2013, 15 people in the surrounding area were arrested following a drug raid that uncovered a pound of “ice,” over 30 guns, cash and vehicles used to transport.

Both Brandon Fuller and Faye Diane Allen were arrested on drug related charges from the raid, according to the report.

Fuller was then arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and Diane arrested on three charges of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

Nearly all of the 15 arrested then were from, or neighbored, Elmore County.

“Also, several individuals in this case have used violence, threats of violence and intimidation to further its drug dealing and to collect money,” the report stated.

Fuller has a history with law enforcement in the county according to court records.

Estes has a lesser record but with similar charges ranging from drug possession to traffic violations.

Both Allens share likewise similar histories with law enforcement, according to the documents.
